Foaming Agents

Endothermic

Polycarboxylic salt complexes

Exothermic

Azodicarbonamide, azobisformamide and hydrazides

Endo-exothermic

Tailor-made combinations of the foaming agents mentioned above for different types of polymers.

Microspheres

Spherical particles covered with a thermoplastic that allows gas encapsulation. When heated, the surface softens and the gas increases its pressure, resulting in expansion that reduces the density of the polymer.

Antistatic

The materials we deal with every day are made up of atoms and molecules that impart electrical properties. These materials, when interacting with the air or other objects, produce an electrical charge caused by friction; we call this static electricity. Antistatic additives for plastics prevent the formation and accumulation of static charges, which is very useful in the manufacture of flexible containers and packaging, especially for sensitive products such as components for electronic devices.

Antioxidants

Oxidation is a chemical process that, in most cases, occurs due to exposure to air (oxygen) or the effects of heat or light. Plastics are exposed to various sources of oxidation such as residues of initiators or catalysts, heat, mechanical stress, residual monomers, ultraviolet light, weather, etc., which causes increased stiffness, yellowing, loss of elongation, resistance to stress, impact, bending and weight loss.

Impact Modifiers

ABS

They have their main application in the automotive industry. Indoor or outdoor use and high impact performance.

CPE Chlorinated Polyethylene

It is a Chlorine-modified polyolefin that, when added to PVC, imparts high-impact properties, resistance to aging and fire.

MBS

Grafted polymers for packaging applications, profiles and applications in general for interior use that are mainly used for containers or blisters, transparent or opaque.

Polyacrylics

They are characterized by being easy to process and compatible with PVC, excellent gloss in the final product, and magnificent outdoor properties. They are normally used for opaque applications that may or may not be used outdoors.

Plasticizers

Plasticizers are low volatility materials that are incorporated into the formulation of PVC and polymers to increase their flexibility, hardness, softness and processability of plastic compounds, these are classified according to their effectiveness, permanence, flexibility at low working temperature, compatibility and solvation power. It is thanks to the additives that PVC is such a versatile and efficient thermoplastic. PVC has the widest range of applications compared to other types of plastics. Some types of plasticizers that you will find in Aurum are:

Silanes

Organofunctional Silanes and Organometallic Titanites are materials that are added to polymers and that react with a wide variety of organic and inorganic compounds; They are used as coupling agents, adhesion promoters, crosslinking agents, surface modifiers, wetting agents, water repellents, catalysts, among others.

Adhesives, coatings and tapes

Improved wet and dry adhesion on various substrates without the need for surface pretreatment, moisture crosslinking of resins, improved chemical resistance, weatherability and durability, better pigmentation, dispersion and rub resistance.

Fiberglass reinforced composites

Coupling of resins with fiberglass to improve resilience, better resistance to humidity and electrical properties, since it improves the integrity of the fiber fabric, its protection and handling.

Llantas, caucho y elastómeros

Resin coupling with mineral fillers to improve compound strength, hardness, abrasion resistance, friction resistance, tensile and wear resistance, moisture electrical properties and rheology control with better filler dispersion.

polymer modification

Moisture cured crosslinked for better resistance of polymers to environmental and chemical attack.

thermoplastics

Moisture-cured polyethylene for cable and pipe applications, mineral fillers and pigment treatment for dispersion and coupling of thermoplastic resins with high filler levels, and high performance halogen-free flame retardant compounds.

Treatment with loads

Improved coupling of resins with mineral fillers, better wetting, dispersion and ease of processing in thermosets, thermoplastics and elastomers.
